TIMKEN Spherical Roller Bearings

TIMKEN spherical roller bearings with a hardened steel cage are more resistant to fatigue and wear and offer better protection against shock loads and acceleration forces.

TIMKEN has set the standard for spherical roller bearing technology – resulting in bearings with higher performance, longer life and lower operating costs. The industry’s best engineering and design practices result in optimised internal geometries and surface structures as well as improved cage and rolling element guides. The result is bearings that run cooler, faster and last longer than comparable products.

Technical Details:

  • Lower operating temperatures – The rollers are guided by cage pockets and not by a central guide ring. This eliminates one friction point, resulting in 4 to 10 % less torque.
  • Better protection – Hardened steel cages offer greater fatigue strength and wear resistance.
  • Optimised machine running time – Special slots in the cage end faces improve the oil lubrication flow and flush more dirt particles out of the bearing.
  • Minimised wear – Improved profiles reduce internal stresses and optimise load distribution.
    load distribution.
  • Improved lubricating film – Optimised surface structures prevent direct metal contact and reduce friction.
  • Higher loads – Longer rollers result in 4-8 % higher load ratings or a
14-29 % longer expected bearing life.
